Iron Maiden Vocalist Bruce Dickinson Announces New Solo Album, The Mandrake Project, Due For Release In Early 2024

Since 1982, legendary Iron Maiden vocalist Bruce Dickinson has made his mark by being what I (and many others worldwide) consider the greatest heavy metal vocalist of all time. Ever since hearing them as an 11-year-old, snot-nosed metalhead, I have always thought he was the greatest, just ahead of Ronnie James Dio, and I still stand by that.

In addition to a long and sometimes tumultuous career with Iron Maiden, Bruce has had quite a stellar solo career. Starting with his solo debut, 1990’s Tattooed Millionaire, Bruce has released six solo albums, the last one being the monumental Tyranny of Souls in 2005. That’s a long time ago, and I have been patiently (sometimes) awaiting a new solo release. My wish was granted today when it was announced that Bruce Dickinson will be releasing a brand new album, The Mandrake Project.

The Mandrake Project will be Dickinson’s seventh solo album and his first since Tyranny Of Souls in 2005, released in early 2024 on BMG Records. The Mandrake Project sees him reunited with long-time musical collaborator and producer Roy Z.

Dickinson explains, “This album has been a very personal journey for me and I am extremely proud of it. Roy Z and I have been planning, writing and recording it for years, and I am very excited for people to finally hear it. I’m even more excited at the prospect of getting out on the road with this amazing band that we have put together, to be able to bring it to life. We’re planning to play as many shows as we can in as many places as possible, for as many people as we can!

As for what The Mandrake Project actually is… all will be revealed soon!”
