Walking Papers Release “The Value of Zero” from Forthcoming Album, The Light Below

Since first hearing them in 2018, Walking Papers proved to be a band that I just cannot get enough of.  Their 2018 release WP2 was a repeat listen for me and getting to see them live supporting Alice in Chains was a mind blowing experience.  The brainchild of singer/songwriter/guitarist Jeff Angell, Walking Papers re-surfaced in 2020 with a digital single for the song “What Did You Expect” and have released another brand new track, “The Value of Zero.”  Jeff Angell, to me, is rock n’ roll personified.  Whiskey soaked vocals, swagger, and cool all comes natural to Angell and is delivered with no pretentiousness or cockiness.  “The Value of Zero” is a great showcase of not just Angell’s ability to ooze cool but once again boasts what a creatively abstract and artistic lyricist he is.

Angell had this to say about the album:

“This album was different by design.  We wanted to pull the arrow back a little further before we let it fly. Music is a liner art form. It’s changes and dynamics are crucial to it’s magic. These songs are special in their approach to their own idea and I’m thrilled to share them with anyone who will listen.”

The Light Below will be released on February 5th via Carry On Records but for now, you can check out Walking Papers’ latest videos to whet your pallet.
