Swedish hippie rockers Children of The Sün have returned in 2020 with a brand new single, “Mountain of the Sun.” This beautiful and moving song is a stand-alone single from the band, and it is a song that holds a very special meaning.
Guitarist/Songwriter Jacob Hellenrud had this to say about “Mountain of the Sun”:
“Me and a friend of mine, Beatrice wrote the song a year ago. We wrote it about my little sister, who had been struggling with sickness for eight years and recently passed away. “Mountain of the Sun” is a tribute to life, and it’s fragility. The “Mountain of the Sun” is a place we all need to go sometimes, whether you’re feeling broken or worn out. The song is dedicated to my little sister, Hanna.”
Children of The Sün emerged back in 2018 with their self-titled EP followed by their critically acclaimed 2019 debut full-length album Flowers. Flowers earned Children of The Sün a strong cult following in their home country of Sweden by playing countless festivals and putting on energetic and uplifting live performances.
