Farthead of the Month: Shootin’ the Breeze with Brianne!

Hey Fartheads! Dig this. Every month this year I will randomly choose a Farthead of the Month. I have some truly awesome, dedicated, and awesome readers and I consider you all friends. Anyways, every month I am going to randomly choose a Farthead of the Month and if chosen, you will do a 12 question Q&A that will be featured as a post on the blog! This is your way to get semi-famous or at least give you the ability to brag that you’re on a shitty metal blog!

Making the honor roll this month is one of my favorite Atlanta based Fartheads, Brianne.  Brianne is an awesome gal and while I don’t necessarily approve of a lot of her favorite bands, she’s a tried and true metalhead who is passionate about the music and the live shows.  I have hung out with Brianne quite a few times and she is a truly righteous metal woman and a much deserved Farthead of the Month!  C’mon and get your award but please keep your speech to a minimum.

What’s your name and what the hell do you do with your life?

Brianne.  I’m a lawyer.

How did you discover the Great Southern Brainfart?

TGSBF did an interview with Pepe from Kyng. I saw it and realized that he was a cool dude with a great blog.

==========================================

What’s your favorite thing about the Great Southern Brainfart?

His tell it like it is attitude, aka, Zachariah!

==========================================

How did you first get into heavy metal?

Beavis and Butt-Head. It came out when I was 9 and exposed me to some heavier stuff than the rock that my teenage sisters were listening to at the time.

==========================================

What are your Top 5 metal bands?

Goatwhore, Hatebreed, Lamb of God, Slayer, and like any good Atlantan, Mastodon.

==========================================

What is currently your favorite metal album?

Mothership’s High Strangeness. I got into Mothership after seeing them at Ride For Dime last summer. I’m not a huge stoner metal fan, but I really did them and this new album.

==========================================

What is the least metal thing about you?

My job and that my other hobbies include baking and quilting.

==========================================

If you could have dinner with any metal musician alive or dead, who would it be, what would you talk about, and what would you have?

Corey Taylor.  We’d talk about absolutely anything, and have nachos. He could read me the phone book and I’d be happy. His voice and the way he talks are mesmerizing to me. We share a passionate love of nachos, so it’s meant to be.

==========================================

What is one metal album that everybody should own?

Slayer’s Reign in Blood. It’s the quintessential metal album in my book.

==========================================

What is your favorite metal t-shirt and why?

My current favorite is the one that I’m wearing today because I found out that it has magical powers. It’s a Kyng shirt with a crow holding a human eyeball in its beak. Apparently it is scary enough to keep Girl Scouts and their moms from asking you to buy cookies.

==========================================

In your opinion, who is the worst metal band out there?

I don’t like saying that bands are “bad” based upon the demographics of who they appeal to or if I just don’t like the music. I try to find something redeeming in all bands. I also believe that even if I don’t dig a band, it’s okay, because whatever success the band has is good for metal as a whole. That being said, I least enjoy Clutch and Periphery.

Finally, what does being selected as Farthead of the Month mean to you?

Farthead of the month is a great honor! I think it means that Don respects my musical tastes and opinions.
