Lucifer Part Ways with Gaz Jennings and Andrew Prestidge

Occult/psych rock masters Lucifer have announced that they have parted ways amicably with guitarist Gary “Gaz” Jennings and drummer Andrew Prestige.  Lucifer posted this via the band’s official Facebook Page:

It is true, the Lucifer I chapter is closed. Lucifer has parted ways amicably with guitarist Gaz Jennings and drummer Andy Prestidge. It’s been quite a miraculous ride. The stars have aligned once again.  Johanna has teamed up with Nicke Andersson (Imperial State Electric, The Hellacopters, Entombed etc.) to work on the next album Lucifer II. Nicke, Johanna & Robin (Tiderbrink) will meet up in Sweden this month to record a few first songs that will hopefully see the light of day very soon. A little taste of what’s to come. Nicke is also joining Lucifer on drums. Stay tuned.

Last year it was announced that Saturn guitarist Robin Tiderbrink had been added to the band as 2nd guitarist.  Not sure if this means he will be the primary guitarist but I do know that Robin is still very much active with his band Saturn are set to release their latest album, Beyond Spectra this year.  Lucifer I was one of my favorite albums to come out and it even saw the band hitting North American shores as direct support for High on Fire.  I can only hope that this new chapter will have Lucifer continuing to make some more timeless, captivating music.  I wish Johanna and her team all the best and may this new chapter be the best one yet!
