3 Inches of Blood Parts Ways; Announces Final Show in Vancouver.

3iob band

In the immortal words of Freddie Mercury, “Another one bites the dust.” Yet another one of my favorite fucking bands has decided to call it a day. The metal warriors of the Great White North, 3 Inches of Blood, released a statement via their official Facebook page announcing that they have indeed decided to part ways:

It is now that we come to announce that 3 Inches of Blood has decided to part ways.

Naturally, people will have questions as to why we have collectively made this decision. While our reasons are personal, just know we are all still good friends, but it is just time to move on.

All of us will continue to pursue musical projects, so refer to our social media pages to keep up with that.

We are eternally thankful to our fans, friends and family that have stuck by us through thick and thin and always believed in us. You are the reason this band got anywhere and kept us going. We’d also like to thank our musical peers and former 3 Inches of Blood members for all your love and support over the years.

We’d like to put one last stamp on the band’s career and end it in grand style. Our final performance will be in our hometown of Vancouver, BC, Canada on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at the fabulous Commodore Ballroom. We’re pleased to say that, Fire Up the Blades-era bassist, Nick Cates will be playing the show with us. As well, we intend to deliver other special surprises that will make this a night to remember.

Tickets go on sale this Friday, June 5 and you will be able to get them here http://www.ticketmaster.ca/event/11004EBD8E6467B9

This news finally puts to rest the nearly year’s worth of radio silence from 3 Inches of Blood. The band embarked on its most successful tours to date in 2013 as co-headliners with Goatwhore and easily put on one of the most facemelting shows I had seen in ages. 3 Inches of Blood has been a favorite of mine since I first heard them back in 2011 and I’m so fucking glad that I had the opportunity to not only see them live twice but to also get to interview lead vocalist Cam Pipes.

I always thought of 3 Inches of Blood as not just the little band that could but the little band that fucking should. Their last 2 releases were two of my favorite modern metal albums to date and again, their live shows were of epic proportions. Anyone who has ever seen a live 3iOB show can attest to this fact. Today, I am just a little bit sadder as the metal world loses one of its important bands; a band that was one of the biggest preservers of the classic metal sound. This just may be the tree that falls in the woods but trust me, I am there to watch if fall and I can tell you now that it does indeed make a sound.

RIP 3 Inches of Blood.
RIP 3 Inches of Blood.
