Iron Maiden Opening Night In Moscow: Set List Revealed!

British Metal Gods IRON MAIDEN kicked off their “The Final Frontier World Tour” earlier tonight (Friday, February 11) at the Olympiysky concert hall in Moscow, Russia. I have been pulling my hair out dying to see what the set list for this show would be. I was really hoping that they’d pull out some amazing stops but the set list, in my opinion, is about 90% WIN! Here’s the set list:

01. Satellite 15… The Final Frontier
02. El Dorado
03. 2 Minutes To Midnight
04. Coming Home
05. Dance Of Death
06. The Trooper
07. The Wicker Man
08. Blood Brothers
09. When The Wild Wind Blows
10. The Evil That Men Do
11. The Talisman
12. Fear Of The Dark
13. Iron Maiden

Encore:

14. The Number Of The Beast
15. Hallowed Be Thy Name
16. Prowler
17. Running Free

My buddy Cheevyjames and I totally called the opener but we’re still unsure of how much of the intro “Satellite 15” was played live or played via tape over the PA. The band did a great job choosing the new material from “The Final Frontier” although I would’ve LOVED to see them add “The Man Who Would Be King” but again, they did an amazing job picking the new songs.

It’s nice to see “Prowler” make an appearance and “Hallowed Be Thy Name” NEVER gets old but really, the rest of that encore just needs to go away. If they’re gonna play “Running Free”, put it mid set. It’s just such a momentum killer being an encore and I always loved it that “Number of the Beast” was at one time a 2nd song. I still have pipe dreams of them adding songs like “Back In The Village” and “Judas Be My Guide” but it’s safe to say that Paul DiAnno would join the band full time before that would ever happen.

I’m hoping that some quality video and/or audio footage will surface from some of these shows so we can see the boys in action. I’m REALLY looking forward to seeing/hearing “Coming Home” live. All in all, I’d say this looks like a solid show but I really hope they tweak that encore a bit as I feel that is the weak part of the entire show.
