Iron Maiden Plays “Infinite Dreams” For the First Time in 38 Years at Athens 2026 Tour Kick-off

Heavy Metal legends Iron Maiden kicked off the 2026 leg of the Run For Your Lives tour in Athens, Greece, on May 23rd with support from Anthrax.  While Maiden’s setlist may not have changed much, the ONE addition makes it all worthwhile.

The boys pulled out a fan favorite deep cut with “Infinite Dreams” from the Seventh Son of a Seventh Son album.  This marked the first time this song has been played in 38 years.  Before launching into the sixth song of their set, singer Bruce Dickinson addressed the crowd.

He said: “We couldn’t think of a better place in Europe to start this tour… We know a few of you have seen some of this show before. We thought we’d do a little bit of something different, just for this next song, because it’s a song that we have not played for many, many years. No, it’s not ‘Alexander the Great’. But it will be when you go to bed tonight — your ‘Infinite Dreams’.”

Maiden sounds absolutely amazing and, honestly, has been having some of their best shows in the last decade or so.  Watching the above clip, I think it’s also safe to say that Simon Dawson has earned his spot in the band.  Nicko Mc Brain will never be “replaced,” but Simon came into the band guns blazing and ready to give it his all.

Hats off to Simon Dawson!  You’re doin’ good, kid.

The setlist for the Athens concert was as follows:
