Multinational Psych/Hard Rockers LUCIFER’s founding member, Johanna Sadonis, has announced a spectacular new lineup for their 2025 shows. The lineup features Coralie Baier (Atlantean Kodex) on guitars, Claudia González Díaz (Rosalie Cunningham band, Cachemira) on bass, Kevin Kuhn from the German post punk band Die Nerven on drums, and former PURSON leader Rosalie Cunningham. That sealed the deal for me to recognize that this may be Lucifer’s most potent, exciting lineup yet.
Cunningham had this to say about the new gig:
“I am thrilled to be moonlighting in this new incarnation of Lucifer! I shall relish this opportunity to reconnect with my darker side musically and have a ball on stage alongside Johanna and the girls (and Kevin!)”
In addition to announcing a new lineup, Johanna announced her death. No, not a literal death, but the death of a name that needed to be set free for Johanna to move forward without the past wearing her down. She said via her official Instagram page:

Since today, I officially go by my maiden name, Johanna Platow, again in Germany as well. In Sweden already since last year. German bureaucracy takes a ridiculous amount of time and complicated mountains of paperwork, but it was a whole lot more ceremonial. When the document was read out loud to me today in that old city hall by a kind lady, I shed a little tear, then slipped out into the sunlight, bought myself a rose, a black coffee, and took a walk in my old neighborhood, to the old church. The sun on my face, the air crisp, and everything in full bloom… it felt so good.
