Swedish Roots/Psych rockers Children of the Sun has been a band that I have been following since day 1. Ok, more like month 5 or something but you get the picture. Consisting of Josefina Berglund Ekholm (Lead Vocals), Jacob Hellenrud (Guitar), Ida Wahl (Bass), Ottilia Berglund Ekholm (Backing Vocals), Wilma Ås (Keyboards/Backing Vocals), and Johan Lööf (Drums), Children of the Sun has been growing by leaps and bounds. With good ol’ fashioned hard work and an unbreakable work ethic, the Children have been pulling in new, faithful followers with every passing live performance.
This year’s Sweden Rock Festival was lucky enough to be graced with the presence of Children of the Sun. As you can see from the live footage in their new video for “Come With Us,” the band’s charismatic and powerful live performance won the crowd over and a sea of smiles can be seen all over. I am so proud of this band and all that they have accomplished. I feel like I’ve watched them grow up and growing is what they will continue to do.
Children of the Sun have yet to tour North America but let me just say that when they finally do, they are going to take this country by storm. For now, do yourself a favor and check them out on Spotify and check out their new song, “Come With Us.”
