Former Galley Beggar Founders Debut as Guillotine Spring in London.

In January of 2023, London psychedelic folk/rock band Galley Beggar announced via their social media that the band was permanently disbanding:

Galley Beggar put out some of my favorite music and while I was bummed to see them go, I was psyched to learn that Maria (Vocals/Guitar) and Mat Fowler (Guitar) had ramped up a new band called Guillotine Spring.  Pulling from the same sort of traditional folk influences, Guillotine Spring sounds more like a step forward rather than a rebirth of Galley Beggar and the end result is fantastic.  On January 9th, Guillotine Spring made their live debut in London at What’s Cookin’ Club.  The band posted a video for the song “Wednesday’s Child” and if this is any indication of what’s to come out of Guillotine Spring, I can tell you now that it will be outstanding.

Guillotine Spring is currently working on their debut album and they will announce more news regarding it soon.  For now, check out “Wednesday’s Child.”
