Like many bands all over the world, Barcelona psychedelic masters Magick Brother & Mystic Sister were completely blindsided by the Covid-19 pandemic. Magick Brother & Mystic Sister is comprised of the core three members Eva Muntada (piano, synthesizers, organ, mellotron & vocals), Xavi Sandoval (bass & guitars), and Maya Fernandez (flute) with Marc Tena appearing as drummer on the band’s self-titled debut album. The album was releases in 2020 and, again, because of the pandemic were unable to perform live.
Now it’s 2022 and Magick Brother-Mystic Sister are easing back into the live music world. The band performed as part of the 2022 Barcelona Psych Fest on April 2nd and someone had the smarts to capture at least one full song. If this song is any indication of how the rest of their performance was, I can guarantee that Magick Brother-Mystic Sister were an extremely tough act to follow.
