This is no joke. No April Fools bullshit. This is ADVENTURE ROCK!
Ya know, as much as I tend to hate genre tags, I can’t think of a more suiting genre tag for Swedish rockers Hallas than “ADVENTURE ROCK.” I mean, listening to Hallas is literally like listening to a Sci-Fi epic film put to music. The choruses are huge, the music it exciting and, well, adventurous. I’ve been a fan of Hallas for a while now so you bet your ass I did a cosmic happy dance when I heard about the release of the new album and the video for “Elusion’s Gate.”
This video, good lord man. It looks like a less than B-rate Sci-Fi film. This pretty much makes Ed Wood films look like Cecil B. Demille epics but this is actually a great thing. It’s fucking perfect. It captures the essence of Hallas and it’s a video that I can’t stop watching. I’ve literally watched it 5 times today. It’s so over the top. It’s so epic. It’s so… HALLAS.
