Iron Maiden North American Tour Announcement Next Week!

According to Iron Maiden’s Official Website, there will be a major announcement on March 4th about a North American Tour.  As we all know, sometimes a North American Iron Maiden tour means 10 shows and then off to Europe they go.  There was talk from the Maiden camp after their very successful “Somewhere Back In Time” tour that the band wouldn’t be touring as extensively so it’s probably a safe bet that the dates will be limited.  Well, I can only hope that since Atlanta is considered a major market that they will make their way down south but I’m not holding my breath.

Iron Maiden has just completed work on their fifteenth studio release with Kevn Shirley at Compass Point Studios in Nassau, Bahamas.  According to Shirley’s website, the band portion of the process is complete but there is still some other work to be done.  This will be the bands first release since the critically acclaimed 2006 release of “A Matter of Life and Death.”

I love it that Iron Maiden still continues to produce new music for their fans.  Instead of just choosing to ride the nostalgia train, they still put out the effort to go in there and create new material.  By doing this they maintain some relevance in these modern times and still prove to be able to do it better than most.  I can only hope that on this release they will actually master it.  Steve Harris’ choice to not master the last album was a bunk choice as I feel that the album had such great songs but was delivered with a piss poor production.  Again, let’s hope that they learned from that mistake.
