For a guy who calls himself Demolition Man, he sure is a fucking loving, caring soul so don’t let the name fool you. Tony Dolan is not just a metal icon but he has proven to be quite the philanthropist as well. In 2020 around Christmas time, Dolan held a raffle contest to win one of his beloved stage-used bass guitars. Dolan then took the money and donated it to families in need around the UK and even hand-delivered the bass guitar to the winner’s home in the UK. Dolan once again has received a calling to step up to the plate and through his connections and friends in the industry created a charity project called Sabbatonero.
Sabbatonero is an all-star charity band that was launched to raise money for Covid-19 Frontline Pandemic workers in Italy. Sabbatonero will be releasing a tribute album to BLACK SABBATH entitled “L’Uomo Di Ferro”, featuring many international artists and musicians, including Marty Friedman, James Murphy (ex DEATH, OBITUARY, DISINCARNATE), Mantas (VENOM INC.), and Snowy Shaw (ex KING DIAMOND, DREAM EVIL), and fellow Venom Inc. bandmate Jeff “Mantas” Dunn. Sabbatonero has released a series of videos featuring the guests who appear on the album and from the sound of these covers, this is a top-notch, well done, and perfectly executed tribute. Even legendary Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler said via his Twitter account that Sabbatonero’s cover of “Symptom of the Universe” was, “An exceptionally good cover of one of my favorite Sabbath tracks. #sabbatonero”
