LoNero is one of those bands that I fell in love with the minute I heard them. Even though I snickered at the genre tag of “Guitarcore,” I was blown away with every song and every live performance. This is why they had their own category because LoNero was something truly special.
Recently, lead guitarist/founding member/songwriter Bill Lonero announced that LoNero has gone their separate ways:
After 15 years of LoNero, I am putting it on indefinite hold. The passion just isn’t there for me anymore. I’ve had an amazing time playing with everyone that was in the band (especially Mike McKaigg, Will Sharman, William Baglivio and James Manalili). We’ve done a lot of great things together and accomplished a lot. Sometimes you have to step away from something you love because it’s just the right thing to do. And right now this feels like the right thing to do. Thank you to all of our supporters out there. Our fans that have stuck with us through everything. All of you that have shown your support through buying our music, coming to shows and spreading the word.
I can honestly say I have lost my passion for music. Maybe that will pass. But it isn’t fair to the band, the music or the fans to continue on without passion.
Life is a journey and sometimes that journey takes you to unexpected places. You just have to hold on and see where it leads. I’ll end this with my favorite quote:

As a huge fan, I can only wish Bill and the rest of the guys the best of luck in the future but knowing Bill, this is just the beginning of something truly remarkable! Thanks for the music guys and carry on my wayward sons!
