UK psychedelic occult rockers Purson first showed up on my radar back in 2014 with their album The Circle and the Blue Door and flew completely under my radar with their stellar EP release In The Meantime. With their blend of 60’s psychedelic occult rock and just a dash of progressive smartness in there to make it something truly interesting Purson quickly became one of my new all time favorite bands. Much like with Jess and the Ancient Ones, I figured I would never get to see them live but as this seems to be a lucky year for me, the planets aligned for me!
Purson have recently announced that they will embarking on their first full on North American tour as direct support for Ghost… or is it Ghost BC… or just Ghost? I don’t care what they call themselves because all that matters at all about this news is the fact that fucking PURSON will be touring the US finally. The tour will kick off on September 22 in Washington, DC at the Fillmore and will wrap up on November 11th at the Monster Mash Festival in Phoenix, AZ.
I cannot even begin to say just how giddy I am about this tour so as we speak I’m saving my pennies so I will have plenty of money to blow on Purson merch. If all goes well, The Great Southern Brainfart will be there to do a full show review and interview with Purson so stay tuned.
