HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRUCE DICKINSON!

53 years ago, and child by the name of Paul Bruce Dickinson was delivered into the world in the small mining town of Worksop, Nottinghamshire. After hearing the Deep Purple album “In Rock” at the age of 13, that was when young Dickinson fell in love with hard rock music. In the summer of 1976, he joined his first band called Paradox and then later changed the band name to Styx unaware of the American band of the same name. Bruce (then known as Bruce Bruce) made his mark on the music scene first as the lead vocalist for Samson from 1979-1981. After the departure of vocalist Paul DiAnno, Bruce Bruce caught the attention of Steve Harris and Iron Maiden manager Rod Smallwood. In September of 1981 Bruce auditioned for the band by singing the song “Remember Tomorrow” and was told right away that he had the job. The rest is history and for the next 30 years would become known as one of the greatest heavy metal singers of all time.

Happy Birthday Bruce and thank you for 30 years of inspiring and facemelting singing and songwriting.
