{"id":20877,"date":"2024-09-12T01:00:50","date_gmt":"2024-09-12T05:00:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.southeastofheaven.com\/?p=20877"},"modified":"2024-12-19T09:46:23","modified_gmt":"2024-12-19T14:46:23","slug":"dream-theater-announces-2025-north-american-tour-dates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.southeastofheaven.com\/?p=20877","title":{"rendered":"Dream Theater Announces 2025 North American Tour Dates"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>2024 was a huge, banging year for Dream Theater fans worldwide and it was announced that former founding member\/drummer Mike Portnoy would be returning to the band after a 13 year absence.\u00a0 The members of Dream Theater seem to sincerely be excited, hopeful, and dare I say optimistic about this family reunion of sorts:<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-features\/dream-theater-album-tour-interview-1234998171\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rolling Stone<\/a> magazine, the five members of <b>DREAM THEATER<\/b> discussed their decision to reunite with <b>Mike Portnoy<\/b> last October, 13 years after he left the drummer first left the progressive metal titans. Asked why they wanted <b>Portnoy<\/b> to return, singer <b>James LaBrie<\/b> said: &#8220;I think we had to return the band back to its strongest form.&#8221; Guitarist <b>John Petrucci<\/b> added: &#8220;It wasn&#8217;t one singular thing; it was sort of a series of life events that caused an organic conclusion. We all talked about it. It was like, &#8216;Yeah, this makes sense right now.'&#8221; Keyboardist <b>Jordan Rudess<\/b> chimed in: &#8220;There&#8217;s so many factors involved, and each of us has our particular relationships. And it was just a moment when everything seemed to come together, and we went, &#8216;You know what? Let&#8217;s do this. Now&#8217;s the time.'&#8221; Bassist <b>John Myung<\/b> concurred, saying: &#8220;It was a collective moment of certainty.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this year Dream Theater wrapped up work on new album but as of this post there has been no release date mentioned.<\/p>\n<p>This reunion comes just in time for the &#8220;An Evening with Dream Theater 40th Anniversary 2024\/2025.
