And the other decades? “Yeah, they might be better represented. I mean, at least one from the 60s. The one we’ve done in the past is ‘Astronomy [The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn, 1967]. That’s always entertaining and fun and gets people off to a happy start. There’s songs from the Momentary Lapse Of Reason and The Division Bell albums. So I thought we’d get people who are genuinely creative and give them a little more space. That’s the plan. So we*re going to have some of the younger guys alongside Guy and the Webb Sisters, who sang with Leonard Cohen on his last tours.”

In all honesty, even if there were no Pink Floyd songs played, I would still be excited to see this show. I never had the chance to see Pink Floyd and the opportunity to see the legendary David Gilmour perform is something that is definitely an item on my bucket list. At 78 years old, this very well could be the last time we get to see Gilmour live. I don’t want to live with regrets about not seeing him over the idea that he won’t play certain Pink Floyd songs. I’m so looking forward to these shows.

David Gilmour 2024 Luck and Strange US Tour

10/29 – Los Angeles, CA @ Hollywood Bowl

10/30 – Los Angeles, CA @ Hollywood Bowl

11/04 – New York, NY @ Madison Square Garden

11/05 – New York, NY @ Madison Square Garden

After the announcement of the release of his first solo album in nine years Luck and Strange, David Gilmour revealed that he would be doing a mere FOUR shows in North America. If you’re excited to see these performances, do so but don’t go expecting a huge selection of the Pink Floyd classics. Gilmour refers to ““an unwillingness to revisit the Pink Floyd of the ‘7os”, which one suspects is down to his reluctance to sing lyrics written by Roger […]

{"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false

277
617,798
post-20811","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-music-news","tag-david-gilmour","tag-pink-floyd
["GET
