2024 will mark the 30th<\/sup> anniversary of Sarah McLachlan<\/strong>\u2019s groundbreaking album Fumbling Towards Ecstasy<\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0 Released in the US on February 15, 1994, Fumbling Towards Ecstasy was the album that put Sarah McLachlan on the map.\u00a0 With songs such as \u201cGood Enough,\u201d \u201cHold On,\u201d and her breakthrough hit, \u201cPossession,\u201d Sarah McLachlan soon found herself connecting with a whole generation and showing that a female artist could be every bit as intense, edgy, and daring as any \u201cman\u201d could be.\u00a0 I mean, her song \u201cPossession\u201d was written from the perspective of a man who stalked her.\u00a0 That\u2019s some hardcore shit.<\/p>\n

Anyways, I\u2019ve been a fan of Sarah\u2019s since I first heard Fumbling Towards Ecstasy<\/strong><\/em> in 1994.\u00a0 I was a huge fan.\u00a0 Back then I was playing bass guitar in a heavy metal band, and we had a gig the same night that Sarah McLachlan was playing at Variety Playhouse in Atlanta, GA on her Fumbling Towards Ecstasy<\/strong><\/em> tour.\u00a0 I literally got to the venue where we were playing, set my shit up, did soundcheck, got in my car, and booked ass across town just in time to see Sarah take the stage opening the show with \u201cPlenty.\u201d\u00a0 I was so in awe and so moved that it became one of the things that started to make me re-think my artistic direction.<\/p>\n

So here we are, 30 years later, looking to celebrate the release of my most cherished Sarah McLachlan album, Fumbling Towards Ecstasy.\u00a0 The 30-date \u201cFumbling Towards Ecstasy 30th Anniversary Tour\u201d<\/strong> will see McLachlan playing the album in its entirety and kicks off in Seattle on May 25th<\/sup>.\u00a0 McLachlan had this to say about the tour:<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s interesting as an artist or as a human for that matter, to be able to go back and look at a postcard of a time in your life and reflect on it,\u201d said McLachlan in a statement. \u201cI think this tour is going to be a real walk down memory lane for me, and I\u2019m hoping that my audience, many of whom have been with me for 30 years, will also be able to go back in time with me.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
