Many believe he was a genius and imagine a world in which he is still creating music, during a time like today when artists themselves can decided what to release and when, given that songwriters of his time were often not afforded that same luxury.<\/p>\n<p>Nadler talks more about her relationship to Van Zandt\u2019s music as she shares the new video:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve been a fan of Townes Van Zandt\u2019s music for nearly as long as I\u2019ve been writing songs. When I was starting out, a friend introduced me to Townes\u2019s music, and I pretty much instantly fell in love with both the rawness of his songs as well as the intense sense of longing expressed within them. His lyrics are haunting and evocative and have inspired me endlessly.
