When I heard W.A.S.P<\/strong> for the first time in back in 1984, it was unlike anything I had ever seen or ever heard up to that point in my life.\u00a0 W.A.S.P looked like Alice Cooper and Twisted Sister had an evil spawn with an image that scared my mother and a sound that made my dad furious.\u00a0 In other words, it was some amazing shit.\u00a0 It was melodic, it was heavy, and the voice of Blackie Lawless to this day is in my\u00a0 mind as one of the greatest metal voices of all time.<\/p>\n

The last time I saw W.A.S.P was on the Headless Children<\/strong><\/em> tour here in Atlanta and it was one of the best shows I\u2019ve seen.\u00a0 The band was touring for their best album to date and the fire and energy on that stage could only be matched by a handful of times.\u00a0 W.A.S.P hasn\u2019t toured North America soil in 12 years and their last US performance was in 2013 at the M3 Festival.\u00a0 Blackie Lawless has had a lot of success with W.A.S.P over in Europe for over a decade but to celebrate the 40th<\/sup> anniversary of W.A.S.P, Blackie is bringing it back home.<\/p>\n

Blackie Lawless<\/strong> had this to say about the tour:<\/p>\n

“For over 10 years, we have not toured on U.S. soil. But starting in October 2022, we return,” bandleader Blackie Lawless said in a tour promo video, which you can watch below. “Ten years I\u2019d want, 10 years I\u2019ve cussed, 10 years I\u2019d lust to return to my homeland and be a wild child, a love machine, to be blind in Texas, on your knees and headless.\u00a0 We’ll take the band and the fans back to where it all started, complete with a stage-show extravaganza that many fans never saw live,” Lawless continued. “‘Cause I wanna scream, ’cause I wanna feed, ’cause I wanna bleed, ’cause I wanna be somebody.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

This is a tour that is not to be missed.\u00a0 The tour begins on Oct. 29 in Anaheim, Calif., and runs through Dec. 9 in San Francisco. Fellow ’80s metal veterans Armored Saint<\/strong> will join them on the road, with Michael Schenker<\/strong> providing additional support on the Texas and Oklahoma dates.<\/p>\n
