DC progressive metal veterans Brave<\/strong> have announced another project to be released under the “Bravemusic” umbrella.\u00a0 The project is called Day of Departure<\/strong><\/a> and this marks the 2nd break-off project, the first being guitarist Scott Loose’s Stellar Death<\/strong> project.\u00a0 Day of Departure is the brainchild of Brave guitarist Matt Kozar<\/strong> and the first single release, “And We Prepare For Our End” features Brave vocalist\/keyboardist Michelle Schrotz <\/strong>along with other fellow Brave members drummer Trevor Schrotz<\/strong>, bassist Ben Kelly<\/strong>, and guitarist Scott Loose<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

“And We Prepare For Our End” is a departure (pun intended) from the sound of Brave which is a cool thing to hear.\u00a0 While the song maintains a progressive feel to it, I also hear a song that is infused with elements of goth, tribal rhythms, and even a bit of early “Comalies” era Lacuna Coil<\/strong> influence.<\/p>\n

Day of Departure<\/strong> had this to say about the project:<\/p>\n

This is an album-long concept that explores the need to retreat from the devastation caused by humankind, and those that have lost faith in our ability to live up to that expectation.\u00a0 It\u2019s a story of destruction, escape, and awakening, with the hope that we are not doomed to repeat the mistakes of our past.\u00a0 The music draws on and merges the various styles and influences presented across the Bravemusic catalog, and has been a few years in the making. We will have a few singles out over the next couple of months and a full length album in early 2022. Stay tuned for updates!<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n
