With each passing release, Kadavar has fascinated me with their visual lyrics and taken me on heady journeys with their hypnotic music. Their last release, Rough Times, didn’t resonate with me the way the others did but when it comes to The Dead Travel Fast, something about this album reached deep inside of me and hugely rocked my soul.

Opening with the haunting yet beautiful “The End,” Kadavar eases the listener into what is a dark place with “The Devil’s Master.” The vocals of singer/guitarist Lupus Lindemann are haunting, and his vocals on this song sent a chill up my spine. “Children of the Night” is the showstopper for me. This song showcases Kadavar’s ‘70s occult rock influence, but instead of completely robbing those other bands, they have found a way to create their signature sound which, for a newer band, is not something easy to do. For the Dead Travel Fast closes out with the 7-minute epic, “Long Forgotten Song.” Lindemann’s vocals, once again, serves as the highlight of this closing song.

For the Dead Travel Fast is without a doubt, Kadavar’s greatest moment to date. It is a journey of the mind and the soul into the catacombs of the minds of geniuses at work. Kadavar has taken elements from each of their albums and combined them to create a signature sign that can only be described as, well, Kadavar. For the Dead Travel Fast is not an album to be gazed over or played as background music. For the Dead Travel Fast is a true musical experience so tune in, turn on, and drop into the world of Kadavar.

Kadavar – For the Dead Travel Fast Release Date: October 11, 2019 Kadavar has been a band that I have been a fan of since their debut release.
