Crobot – Motherbrain<\/strong>

Crobot is a band that has been on my radar since their 2012 debut, Legend of the Spaceborn Killer<\/em>.\u00a0 I have watched this band grow by leaps and bounds and no matter what obstacles may lay before them, they always manage to overcome them and come out smelling like roses.\u00a0 2019\u2019s Motherbrain<\/em> was an album that I couldn\u2019t wait to hear and I was not disappointed.<\/p>\n

Motherbrain kicks off with \u201cBurn\u201d and right away I could feel the groove overtake me and have me moving in my seat.\u00a0 This is nothing new for me when listening to Crobot but by the time the second track, \u201cKeep Me Down\u201d played, I could feel a huge difference in the band and for the better.\u00a0 The songs are perfectly structured and the production is hands down the best that they\u2019ve had on an album yet.\u00a0 THIS is how I always thought a Crobot album should sound like and it\u2019s a great representation of them as a live band.<\/p>\n

On their last album, Welcome to Fat City<\/em>, while I enjoyed it, I just couldn\u2019t help but feel that something was amiss with that album.\u00a0 It seemed to lack something and I couldn\u2019t quite put my finger on it.\u00a0 When listening to new songs like, \u201cLow Life,\u201d \u201cStoning The Devil,\u201d and my favorite track, \u201cBlack Out\u201d, I could finally hear what it was that was so different.\u00a0 With a brand new rhythm section, Crobot sounds more confident, connected and they sound like a complete unit.<\/p>\n
