\"ImageIt\u2019s so fucking hard to believe that in 2019 The Great Southern Brainfart will be 10 years old.\u00a0 That\u2019s a long fucking time to do anything.\u00a0 It\u2019s longer than I\u2019ve ever been in a band, longer than I\u2019ve ever had a job, and nearly \u00bd has long as I\u2019ve been with Mrs. Farthead.\u00a0 Ten fucking years and I owe it all to you.\u00a0 Yes, you; the one reading this right now so from the bottom of my cranky, snarky, little metal heart, I think you with all that I have.<\/p>\n

Before you get worried and think that this is a \u201cretirement\u201d letter, you can rest assured that we are not going anywhere.\u00a0 As many of you may have noticed over the last couple of years, the content on The Great Southern Brainfart has grown to be much more dynamic and versatile than ever.\u00a0 This year alone we covered rock, hard rock, metal, thrash, death metal, classic rock, progressive, and even jazz.\u00a0 This will continue into the future as the Great Southern Brainfart expands its horizons.\u00a0 You will still get the best coverage we can give you on all the great hard rock and metal bands out there that we love but we\u2019ll be covering other things as well that we love with hopes that open minded readers will open up and find something new to grasp onto.<\/p>\n

Over the past couple of years, I have been honored to have an amazing group of people working for The Great Southern Brainfart.\u00a0 Emily Harris (my partner in crime) has been an amazing photographer when I needed her as has Jeri Mize.\u00a0 Two very talented people that dedicate themselves to the site when they can and I am honored to have what I feel are two of the best.\u00a0 We have also recently welcomed Eric Layton on board as a contributing writer and Eric brings a lot to the table which has really helped this blog to expand into something far beyond just the average hard rock\/metal blog.<\/p>\n

So yes, you\u2019ll be getting death metal, you\u2019ll even be getting Ghost coverage (thanks, Eric), but you\u2019ll also hear about the cool shit that the psych rock world has to offer as well as the occult rock realm and hell, even more jazz and prog. \u00a0Oh yeah, and don\u2019t for the Talkin\u2019 the Talk Podcast which will feature interviews with all kinds of interesting musicians, authors, actors, and whoever the fuck else will appear on a site called The Great Southern Brainfart.\u00a0 We know that former Black Crowes guitarist Rich Robinson won\u2019t so he can just eat shit.<\/p>\n

Ten years folks; ten years of The Great Southern Brainfart and I am every bit as excited about the site now than I\u2019ve ever been.\u00a0 Thank you all so much for being such a huge part of this journey and please, be vocal.\u00a0 If there are bands you are passionate about and would like to see us write about and\/or talk about, please let us know!\u00a0 This is YOUR site as well as ours.<\/p>\n

Thanks for a great ten years.\u00a0 Here\u2019s to another ten you bastards.<\/p>\n
