Hey Fartheads! Dig this. Every month this year I will randomly choose a Farthead of the Month. I have some truly awesome, dedicated, and awesome readers and I consider you all friends. Anyways, every month I am going to randomly choose a Farthead of the Month and if chosen, you will do a 12 question Q&A that will be featured as a post on the blog! This month we have Jacob. Jacob has been a reader of the Great Southern Brainfart for quite a while and being that he lives right here in good ol’ ding dang Atlanta, Jacob and I have hung out quite a bit at many of the shows you’ve read about on this here blog. What’s your name and what the hell do you do with your life?<\/strong><\/p>\n

My name is Jacob Moulder. By day, I work in the pool business and pull some good ‘ol fashioned hard labor out in the elements. By night, I go to concerts and drink beer.<\/p>\n

I discovered it when BraveWords shared your interview with Sean Yseult of White Zombie, in February 2011.<\/p>\n

What’s your favorite thing about the Great Southern Brainfart?<\/strong><\/p>\n

How did you first get into heavy metal?<\/strong><\/p>\n

It would be a combination of a few things:
\nMy Dad playing me his old Aerosmith and Sabbath records.
\nMe stealing an AC\/DC ‘Highway to Hell’ cassette from the library when I was 8.
\nMy older cousin’s turning me onto Metallica, Megadeth and Pantera.<\/p>\n

I was lucky to grow up in the 90’s and be exposed to shows like Beavis and Butthead, the last year of Headbanger’s Ball, Super Rock, and even 120 Minutes. Also reading magazines like Hit Parader and Circus were good exposure.<\/p>\n

What are your Top 5 metal bands?<\/strong><\/p>\n

That’s a tough one. It’s always a revolving door due to whatever new bands I’m high on, but if I did an “All-Time” Top 5 it would roughly be: Iron Maiden, Pantera, Type O Negative, Anthrax, Gwar…<\/p>\n

What is currently your favorite metal album?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I’m still digging the newest Venom and Armored Saint records from last year… and Power Trip’s ‘Manifest Decimation’ from a couple years ago always makes it into my rotation. Love that band.<\/p>\n

What is the least metal thing about you?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Candlelit showers or my double disc Seal – ‘Best of’ collection.<\/p>\n

If you could have dinner with any metal musician alive or dead, who would it be, what would you talk about, and what would you have?<\/strong><\/p>\n

In light of most recent events, I’d have to go with Lemmy. I’d just listen to him talk about his life because it’s fucking fascinating and we’d probably just have alcohol and hash browns for dinner.<\/p>\n

What is one metal album that everybody should own?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Metallica – ‘Master of Puppets’. It’s a masterpiece and defined metal as we know it today.<\/p>\n

What is your favorite metal t-shirt and why?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Oh man, that’s hard. Probably my Iron Maiden tour shirt from the first time I saw them. It’s a bootleg and I probably wear it at least once a week. Why? Because it’s an Iron Maiden shirt, and Iron Maiden shirts rule.<\/p>\n

In your opinion, who is the worst metal band out there?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Five Finger Death Punch is an obvious answer. Deafheaven is another band that’s blown up over the last few years, and I just can’t dig it.\u00a0 Oh, and Tool. I hate Tool.<\/span><\/p>\n
