The Devil&#8217;s Cut<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> Release Date: June 3rd, 2013<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> 1 out of 5 Horns<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>White Wizzard\u2019s latest album <em><strong>The Devil\u2019s Cut<\/strong><\/em> is 9 songs of face melting, epic, top shelf metal that will without a doubt blow your mind.\u00a0 <em><strong>The Devil\u2019s Cut<\/strong><\/em> is without a doubt the best metal release of 2013.\u00a0 White Wizzard have delivered their greatest work to date with<em><strong> The Devil\u2019s Cut<\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0 These are all reviews that White WIzzard would love to hear.\u00a0 Well, they won\u2019t be hearing it from The Great Southern Brainfart.<\/p>\n<p>First off, let&#8217;s just address this album art.\u00a0 It looks like a Care Bear ate way too many Skittles and then shit them on a canvas.\u00a0 I mean, who thought this album art was amazing?\u00a0 Oh, Jon Leon.\u00a0 That&#8217;s right.\u00a0 Sorry.\u00a0 Now let&#8217;s address the album itself.\u00a0 As a diehard fan of any band, nothing pains me more than having to listen to a really crappy album and with The Devil\u2019s Cut, White Wizzard has hit proverbial shit wall.\u00a0 It\u2019s official.\u00a0 Jon Leon is fresh out of ideas and this album proves it.\u00a0\u00a0 What I heard instead was an album that sounds completely hacked together with juvenile lyrics and a serious digression in growth.\u00a0 At times, the songs are so damn silly that I feel like I\u2019m being made fun of as if this were a comical kind of band put together to create a caricature based on every clich\u00e9 in the heavy metal handbook.\u00a0 It almost feels like that instead of progressing forward and growing, White Wizzard just continues to work backwards.\u00a0 <em><strong>The Devil\u2019s Cut<\/strong><\/em> sounds like it very well could have been White Wizzards FIRST album.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>The Devil\u2019s Cut<\/strong><\/em> is an album that I would expect from a band who is just testing the waters for the first time and who are new to the game.\u00a0 For a band putting out their fourth release it\u2019s kind of staggering to see such an absolute lack of lyrical and musical growth.\u00a0 Even at nine songs the album just seemed to drag and it was all I could do to make it through the album.\u00a0 Aside from the song \u201cTorpedo of Truth\u201d which even that is just \u201cOK\u201d by White Wizzard standards, there is not one single song that I could make it through without my gag reflex kicking in.\u00a0 Not even the stellar lead guitar playing of guitarists Jake Dreyer and Will Wallner is enough to save this massive platter of crap.\u00a0 It almost makes me sad for them to see such talent being burned away on such mediocrity.\u00a0 You know, it\u2019s sort of like watching an excelled student in a remedial class with a bunch of dimwits.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0It truly blows my mind that this is the same band\/guy that put out one of my all-time favorite metal albums, <em><strong>Over the Top<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Call me a hater, call me whatever the fuck you want but I\u2019ve been a White Wizzard fan since the beginning.\u00a0 I have given them the benefit of the doubt countless times and even when I had my words with Jon Leon and whoever else in the band, I have stood by my support of this band and hoped that with each passing album I would be proven wrong.\u00a0 <em><strong>The Devil\u2019s Cut<\/strong><\/em> is without a doubt the last straw for me as a fan of White Wizzard.\u00a0 Looking back, at least I have <em><strong>High Speed GTO, Over The Top,<\/strong><\/em> and \u00bd of<em><strong> Flying Tigers<\/strong><\/em> to stand with.\u00a0 As far as <em><strong>The Devil\u2019s Cut,<\/strong><\/em> White Wizzard will have to stand alone as this is not an album that I can or will get behind or beside of.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>White Wizzard &#8211;
